Drawing from its rich history, and woven together on the banks of the Buffalo Bayou River, East River is one of Midway’s most exciting developments. East River Phase 1 will include 26 acres of innovative design that will open up more than 150 acres of waterfront property and bring together dynamic mixed-use spaces and more than a mile of bayou trails and natural areas.  

Working closely with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership, a non-profit organization working to revitalize and transform Buffalo Bayou, we’re thoughtfully transforming Houston’s east waterfront for generations to come.

Designed to grow and evolve through multiple phases across a decades-long development horizon, the vision for East River focuses on a world-class collection of vibrant, walkable, green districts. East River is where culture and commerce thrive together on more than 150 acres of waterfront property located minutes from Downtown Houston. 

East River will provide a new way for Houstonians to work, live and play more harmoniously by focusing on connection to the water, central green spaces, active transportation and upgraded infrastructure. East River will become the wellspring for a wide range of residents, innovative and globally competitive companies, cutting-edge retail and restaurant concepts, and institutional, educational and recreational opportunities.
