Midway’s East River is honored to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Scenic Star Award by Scenic Houston. This accolade recognizes East River's commitment to enhancing the visual quality of Houston's public spaces through innovative and thoughtful design.
Scenic Houston’s Scenic Star Award is bestowed annually to a local entity that significantly contributes to the aesthetic improvement of the local environment. East River has been acknowledged for its transformative impact on Houston’s East End and Historic Fifth Ward, integrating sustainable practices and community-focused initiatives that foster a vibrant, visually appealing urban area.

The award was officially presented at the Scenic Houston Awards Ceremony at The Laura multifamily community at East River. The event gathered city officials, community leaders, and industry stakeholders who share a commitment to enhancing Houston's urban landscape. David Hightower and Anna Deans from Midway’s Investment and Development team accepted the award on behalf of East River. Ms. Deans toured attendees around the property, showcasing the project's unique features and future plans.
Midway has a history of receiving accolades for its impactful projects. East River was recently honored with a Houston Business Journal 2024 Landmark Award, recognizing its significant contribution to Houston's real estate landscape. Additionally, Midway's Chairman and CEO, Brad Freels, was named the 2019 Scenic Visionary by Scenic Houston for his outstanding efforts in improving Houston's public spaces and livability.
